Optimizing IMC Image Pre-Processing, Segmentation and Pipelines in Non-Cancerous Human Tissues

16 February 2023

Speaker:
Juliet Emamaullee, MD, PhD
Division of Abdominal Organ Transplantation
Keck School of Medicine of USC/Children’s Hospital Los Angeles

Rejection of solid organ transplants continues to be an important cause of graft loss in solid organ transplantation, but deep exploration of intragraft alloimmunity has been limited by the scarcity of clinical biopsy specimens. Multiplexed imaging techniques such as Imaging Mass Cytometry™ (IMC™) have been shown to enable single-cell analysis of immune phenotypes within fixed clinical tissue specimens. Dr. Emamaullee's lab has been using this technique to study the immune landscape of chronic rejection from liver transplant recipients.

Watch this webinar to learn how Dr. Emamaullee's group optimizes analysis of IMC outputs from an 85-patient set of liver transplant tissue to generate high-quality single-cell datasets that enable deep characterization of immune subpopulations with multiple markers per cell type.
